WORKSHOP FOR DOCUMENTATION AND PROMOTION OF STONE BRIDGES OF GREECE

The UNESCO RESEARCH LAB participates in the WORKSHOP FOR DOCUMENTATION AND PROMOTION OF STONE BRIDGES OF GREECE (-SCANNER-) on the use of Geomatics for the knowledge and valorization of traditional stone bridges in the municipality of Pogoni, in the north of Greece.

We are selecting at least 3 students, interested in the topics of survey and preservation of Cultural Heritage, who want to take part in the workshop from July 13 to 20, 2025. At the end of the workshop, upon returning to Italy, participants will be required to continue working for a short period of time (either individually or in groups) to finalize the workshop deliverables. Based on the work developed during the workshop, there will also be opportunities for those interested to pursue theses or internships on the topic.

The workshop is going to be an opportunity:

  • to verify on the field instruments and technologies of Geomatics such as laser scanner, photogrammetry, UAV, SLAM;
  • to collaborate with students from other universities and different background;
  • to learn about a little-known part of Greece and its culture and tradition;

Room and board will be provided by the municipality of Pogoni.

Participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation to the workshop location.
